What I Mean to Say

I’ll never see the way you see

I’ll never feel the way you feel

But I do know

That I like you

Or maybe what I mean to say

Is that I love you

You can tell me anything

Or say nothing at all

Whatever

It doesn’t really matter

Because in the end

I only know that

You may never see the way I see

Or feel the way I feel

But that’s okay because I’m used to it

I’ll get over it, again

Pastime

Wasn’t it nice

Back when we

Were strangers

Didn’t know

Or perhaps didn’t care

About each other’s existence

But then

You came into my life

Practically unannounced

So, I guess now

I’ll have to care

About you

I suppose on the bright side

It gives me something to do

Besides reading books all the time

Closer to You

I waited my whole life

To come back to you

Now that the end is in sight

I’m not sure if I’m ready

To see your face again

Stars in the distance

Under the same illuminated sky

You sleep peacefully

While I dream whimsically

One night closer to you

A part of me died that night

That evening when I first saw you

And now,

I’m waiting

For a resurrection

In the meantime,

I feel you, I see you

I dream you, I believe in you

Your image, so still

For what seems an eternity

Someday soon

I’ll come closer to you, again

God knows, I waited

My whole life

To come back to you
